Desperately seeking cake mix cookies recipe. I know there's a way to make chocolate cookies from a chocolate cake mix. But I can't seem to find the recipe.
Can you help?
Yes, Sue I can. Well, actually the Duncan Hines
company can.
Here's the recipe off the side panel of a box of Duncan Hines dark chocolate fudge cake mix.
Duncan Hines Chunky Chocolate Cookies
1 package of Duncan Hines Moist Deluxe Dark Chocolate Fudge Cake Mix
2 large eggs
1/2 cup of butter or margarine, melted
1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup of chopped pecans or walnuts
Preheat oven to 350° F.
Place cake mix, eggs, melted butter or margarine, brown sugar and vanilla extract in a large bowl.
Stir with spoon until thoroughly blended.
Stir in chocolate chips and pecans.
Drop by level measuring tablespoonfuls onto greased baking sheets.
Bake at 350° F. for 12 minutes for chewy cookies (cookies will still be puffed) or 14 minutes for crisp cookies.
Cool for 2 minutes on baking sheets.
Remove to cooling racks.
Cool completely.
Store in airtight container.

I've tried this recipe. It makes great cookies.
Plus it saves you a little time and effort. No need to measure out the flour, chocolate, etc. Less measuring means less chance of spilling and best of all, less time spent cleaning up!
You can omit the nuts and chips and still have a tasty cookie.
Or omit the nuts and add more chips. Try adding a few dark chocolate chips and some milk chocolate or white chocolate chips.
Peanut butter chips, caramel bits or peppermint chips or pieces are a good non-chocolate addition.
Should you decide to make these cookies from scratch, try this recipe for homemade
chocolate chunk cookies.
It's a little more work, but they're very good! And you can claim all the credit.
Thanks Sue for the question. Hope you enjoy your cookies.
And thank you Duncan Hines company for the recipe.
