Chocolate glaze.

This simple chocolate glaze recipe saves you time and effort.

Cocoa powder makes it delicious!

One bowl, four ingredients and 5 minutes.

That's all you need! No cooking. Melting doesn't count as cooking, right?

What can you spread it on?

Brownies, cake, cookies, homemade or store bought.

Whatever needs a dab of chocolate icing.

Stir it up, spread it on and you're gone!

Glaze Recipe

2 tablespoons (29g) of butter

3 tablespoons (21g) of natural cocoa powder (not Dutch)

1 cup of (130g) powdered sugar

3 1/2 tablespoons (53g) of milk*

Microwave butter for for about 30 seconds, in a small bowl. Cover the bowl or the butter will splatter.

Chocolate glaze ingredients in a bowl.

Add cocoa, powdered sugar, and milk.

Chocolate glaze ready to use.

Stir until well mixed. Don't worry about a few lumps.

You can pour the chocolate glaze frosting over a cake like this or spread it on.

It's a great way to easily frost a cake. And it makes the cake even more appealing, doesn't it?

Doesn't your finger want to take a swipe at that chocolate running down the sides of the cake? Mine sure does!

No need to mar the cake, lick the bowl instead.

Great on cupcakes too.  And really good on your finger!

Chocolate Glaze Frosting Tips

Do the lumps bother you? Sift the powdered sugar and cocoa into the bowl. That should take care of them.

*Use slightly less milk if you want the glaze thicker. Add a few drops of milk if you want it thinner.

You can add more cocoa or sugar to suit your taste. Just remember to adjust the amount of milk too. Unless you want chocolate paste!

Not enough glaze for you?  Double the recipe!

Try this chocolate glaze recipe. Seriously, this recipe is simple and fast. It took longer to type this page than it took to make the icing!
